It's just a phase!

3rd May 2016

What's up buds!
Assuming all of you're doing just fine, except for the fact that the summer heat is sucking out all the energy and enthusiasm from your body and mind? Same pinch to those who have no Air Conditioners.

Anyways moving forward to the concern that rose in my mind today all of a sudden, which leaves me with no choice but write about it here. Its about how we think about a particular situation of our lives or react to them. How sometimes something can make us sad and upset and make us feel secluded from the crowd. Well 'its just a phase!' That's what I think. Its ironic to see that people who pretend to be very ignorant and negligent about the events happening with or around them, are the ones who're usually affected the most. Sadness or happiness is just the element of a particular phase someone becomes a prey to, all the time! Good times or bad times never stick to us for a long duration. They come and before even we get to act on them, they're gone.

But this isn't the point of my concern. My concern points to the actions one does while going through a phase. When someone is sad he/she tends to avoid everyone, prefers to be all alone, cries, shouts, screams, and usually prefers to do things which aren't preferable. But its the state of mind which makes us act. It becomes almost impossible to act wisely when we're sad or even happy at times. Happiness makes us blind, blind from facts and truths. Although sadness stays with us longer than happiness (That's what happens with me usually and a lot of people around me too! :P).

What is it really? What can be a possible solution to such a concern? Phsycology says that there's no particular solution. Humans will behave the way they'll want to, under the influence of the state of mind. No one can possibly control or tamper the acts. But a set of few simple words might help at times. The statement: 'Its Just A Phase!'

These words might sound very usual, but they aren't. If one understands the message behind this one statement, survival might become a little better and easier I'm sure. And afterall complicated life isn't for people like me ^_^. If you're sad, just tell yourself that 'its just a phase!' And you'll at least know that maybe not the best, but something considerably better might come to you soon. This might bring a slight change in your acts. And if you're happy with something, then you should definitely keep telling yourself that 'its just a phase!' Good times usually don't stick to many people for a long time. This statement will always keep us slightly prepared for anything that alters the happiness in our life, which automatically gives us a slight hold on our acts.

Its pretty simple as I said: 'Its Just a Phase!' This has worked with me pretty well. Has made me a better self analyst. I suggest the same to my friends and dear ones who come up with problems, big or small. Words play a very important role in our behaviour, and these few words set a great example I'm sure. Not that you should impose this, I respect everyone's individualism :P! But theres no harm in trying I assure. After all its just a phase!

Anyways for those who can't afford an air conditioner in this unbeatable summer, drink lots of water and maintain a high glucose intake! Because May has just arrived. And 'Its just a phase' afterall! :P

An experience like never before!

16th April 2016.

Hello everyone!
How are you all?
Writing after 3 months which seems so unfair, but daily chores, routine, work & academics can become controlling at times!
Well here I am with a new article & something I'd like to share with all of you.

As the title suggests, it's about an experience. Well to be more precise it's about my biking experience. Now this might sound really baseless & logically nill. But this experience has become a part of my life so I feel it's worth sharing. The first time I rode my own two wheeler, or to be more technical my own vehicle, was a 'Honda Activa' gifted by my father. Living in a place like Pune & if you have no vehicle of your own your life will become totally miserable. Which indeed became a concern in my family. So when I moved from Mumbai & lived in Pune for a year without wheels (which made my life terrible) I was been gifted with a Honda Activa which bears a 110 cc engine & offers a power output of 8 bhp! Back then it seemed so less, yet it was my first vehicle and I rocked the road like never before (well there was nothing as such before, I'm pretty euphoric!)

After riding an activa for two years, my parents finally decided to get me another ride. A new ride!(now this time the choice was partially in my hands too) which made me decide to go for the TVS Apache RTR 160. Believe me or not this bike has changed my whole experience of being a bike enthusiast! I have always been very fond of bikes & biking. Having a mid level, high speed, well renowned bike was a big deal for me!

160 cc 5 speed engine with a maximum power output of 15.2 bhp and double disc brakes, this seemed like a dream come true. (yes well technically there are no limits to our aspirations but still as a practical aspect, this was like a dream come true!) Riding this bike seems like I'm riding a beast. Yes no doubt there are much faster bike than mine, but I have no problems with that very fact!
My bike can go up to 130 kmph speed! (Which is less practical and more ideal I feel) & it simply gives an amazing experience. It has taken me to places where normal commuter bikes fail to reach! I have covered distances which many bikes cannot cover in a very long time. Mumbai, Lonavala, Lavasa, Khadakwasla & as a matter of fact, my bike has taken me to 'Loni Kalbhor' like maybe hundreds of times.

Yes TVS Apache RTR 160 is not a low maintenance bike. It needs a lot of care, the reciprocation of which will be a charm to every owner. I'm very much proud to be a bike owner. I feel everyone should own a bike. Bikes are very helpful many a times. I feel stressed I go out for a ride! I feel annoyed I go for a ride! I feel happy I go for a ride! And after all that it takes you to wherever you want to go! No hastles of Public Transports and 6 Seater(which indeed carries 11 people in Pune) No matter which direction my mood goes, I know that my bike will take me somewhere amazing. It gives a unique mental satisfaction. Yes although there are things which should be taken care of! The tachometer should remain considerably low! Speeding up is less logical! I always suggest everyone to buy a helmet before buying a bike! (Note* if you think your rash riding can impress a girl, you're pretty wrong! Impress her with your sophisticated riding instead! That's what I usually do! It works! :P)

So what are you waiting for? It's a beautiful Saturday morning and you're still home? Go get out! Kit up! Start up your bike and go for a ride! (Take a pillion, it'd be much more fun to ride with someone special)

Oh yes by the way wishing all of you a very belated:
1. Happy Makar Sankranti
2. Happy Valentines day
3. Happy holi
4. Happy Ambedkar Jayanti
5. And Shubho notun bochor to all my bengali friends! ^_^

(Wow this indicates I should write more often!)

Love movies or not, WAZIR is a must watch!!

8th January 2016.

Good morning friends. How are you all? So it has been exactly a week today since new year. Everything is still great.
So somehow, me and few of my friends managed to get first day first show tickets for 'Wazir'. Believe me or not, Vidhu Chopra sir has portrayed a masterpiece. Let me begin with the cast, Amitabh Bachchan sir, Farhan Akhtar, Neil Nitin Mukesh & Aditi Rao Hydari. The casting itself is a dynamite. And with John Abraham appearing in a cameo role, is just like a cherry on the top. The plot is perfect. The action is perfect. Songs are beautiful as well. Each actor has done a brilliant job! And a legend like Amitabh Bachchan undoubtedly makes the film legendary.
And yes one more thing I'd love to mention. My father, Pradipto Sengupta played the Mandolin, Rubab and Oud in the Background music of this film. You can listen to his playing in many parts of the movie. You can visit my father's website here.
Friends, 'Wazir' is definitely much more than just a one time watch. In fact I'm sure I'm going to watch it again. You all will undoubtedly love the film. Do not miss it.

Limitless Friendship Proven!

5th January 2016

Hello friends!
How are you all? Hope you all are doing really great! So I was wondering what could I possibly share today? And then I recalled an amazing experience of mine from the 2nd January 2016.
So it was the 2nd day of new year and adrenaline was still pumped up! (It's the same till now)Anyway a person called me up in the first week of December notifying this information that he wanted me to perform solo in a get together show. It was his 50th birthday celebration and he wanted the evening to be musical. So I was all psyched! Somehow we met up and decided the songs. Songs were all hindi old classics from the the 60's an 70's! So anyway I practiced the songs and I was all ready for the evening. The evening arrived and then I realised that these were a bunch of friends who were of the same age. They all were turning 50 and they were having a family. They all grew up together, played together, supported each other, they literally shared life together. And when I say family it was a huge family, built with friendship, love and affection. They were childhood friends. One of the friends had organised the complete event. He had nicely made slideshow with all old pictures when they all were in their 20s and 30s. I then realised that these friends were done living half of their respective lives, but the influence of each other's friendship was so strong back then, that they all are a family now. Yes they do not meet daily, they all are professionals and are also busy in their respective lives. But when they met, they virtually became teenagers again. They sang songs from their young times, recalled all their old memories, joys, sadness, ups and downs. The evening ended up being all emotional but good emotional. When I saw this kind of love and friendship among these people, I just hope that, 30 years from now, me and my friends share the same lovely bond of love and make a great family. This was one great experience for a lifetime. Yes I didn't make huge money out of it, I neither got any qualitative exposure as it was a private show, but one thing I learnt and achieved is that, love, friendship, affection exists and all these things posses a lot of strength!
So anyways, at the end of the evening they greeted me with a warmth, which could be literally felt even in this chilli climite! They appreciated my performance. I'm thankful to Mr Sunil (right) who invited me to make this event musical. And also Mr Ajit (left) for letting me be a part of his birthday celebration!

Year ended Musically, year began Musically!!

2nd January 2016

Hi everyone, I just hope new year is being generous to everyone. Well it has been beautiful for me at least. 31st evening I performed in a musical concert with my band(Spardha) in this place near Sus, Pune. It was a fun filled event and crowd was cool as well. Few of my friends on guitar, me on the keyboards and a friend of mine who sang a few songs. Oh and I sang a song too. It was one great experience. The next day was fun too. The same crew performed at another venue in Pimple Saudagar, Pune. This show was amazing. It seems like day by day our synchronisation is improving! And a very key note I need to mention is that the food we had after our performance on the 1st of January, was incomparable. We all had this amazing Chicken Dum Biryani, how great it was? Can't be expressed in words. We ate a lot of food. And then Spardha's founder treated us. The evening concluded with a very healthy discussion about growth of our organisation. Well that's much needed. We're going to perform in many venues upcoming weeks. And I'm going to keep updating on my blog.
Anyways New years have been fun for me and my friends. I hope all my other friends have had a wonderful new years too. I feel pleased to have shared my wonderful experience with all of you.

The resolution sandcastle!

1st January 2015

Hello everyone.
Wishing all of you a very happy new year, may this year be full of euphoria for every one!
So it is the first day of the year and a lot of people are excited for it! I'm sure a lot of people are asleep right now, but that's okay, I hope they've had a fun last night. So new year, new resolution. This is a thing I've been observing since childhood. I remember making some of my own, but also remember myself being unable to achieve any of them. Today I asked a bunch of people what shall be their new years resolution? And few of the responses were very interesting. The first person I asked, his response was "I'll work harder to get promoted to a senior level at work!" Okay not a bad resolution, but this is more of a short term goal than a resolution, and I was wondering whether will that even give him some eternal happiness? Still I'd wish you luck and may you get promoted if that's all you want this year. Another friend of mine who's response to my question was, "31st of December I'm going to have my last alcohol, I'll go clean from the 1st of January!" Well my friend, as they say- "the damage is already done!" Why leave now? Although better late than never, and I really hope you achieve it! The third person I asked about his new years resolution, his response was a bombshell. "I will stop fighting with my girlfriend from the 1st of January!" Well, no comments on that one! Wish you luck my friend!
What is a new year resolution? I've never believed in a new years resolution. Resolutions are just like sandcastles. Highly fragile, even the slightest blow of wind will break it down. This blow of wind can be the slightest possible distraction, de motivation or discouragement. You decide not to have alcohol in 2016, well someone might offer you a little, and then you might tell yourself, just one won't do any harm, and there you go! The wind blew away your sandcastle! You won't fight with your girlfriend? That can't be a new year resolution! That has to be an eternal determination, and what if she's wrong and you're right, will you remain quiet? Oh that rhymed!! Anyways, the only message I wanted to convey is, stop making resolutions, stop speaking about what you'll do. Make determinations not just for this year, but for the rest of your life. Make castles of bricks instead of sand.
Once again wishing all of you a very happy new year. Make the best out of 2016.

A little perspective!

31st December 2015

Good morning everyone.
So its the last day of the year 2015, I fall prey to a huge dilemma every year when I observe the adrenaline in so many people. I never understood how can the last day of the previous year be more exciting than the first day of a new year? So many people asked me what is your plan for the 31st of December? Well, I came across no one who asked me what is your plan for the 1st of January? Yes although I don't believe in concepts like 'fresh start', etc., but the first day of the new year is just a reminder that a small part of your life has become your past, an unalterable past. The first day of the new year can be a reminder that we can take some more efforts to become a better version of ourself. Yes celebrating something is no harm, 31st December celebrations are amazing. Parties, DJ music, Dance, it's euphoric. But let's not forget the better part of the next day, where so many people do not even get to see the morning due to the last night hangover.
So friends this 31st of December, you needn't make any new year resolution, no determination, just make sure you set an alarm, wake up and see the morning of the very first day of new year, year 2016. Wishing all of you a very happy and prosperous new year! :)
